After a wash (Water drops on the hood). Always a good idea to wash it underneath very well after driving in the snow (salty roads).

HISTORY

I bought this (12.01.01)
1st Day : Engine in car. It runs but check engine light appears. I rewire the Air/Lean gauge. I change the O2 sensor. I change the plugs and properly torque them in (22 ft-lbs.), Hack the air box, clean the K&N (dirty) and blow air through vacuum lines to remove gunk.

Note the air box and filter. The valve cover (a crack on the right side top leaking oil, common with these cars).

2nd day: Picked up O2 slotted socket from auto store (Highly recommended!). Drove car and could feel a power increase. I could also hear the turbo a lot more due to the hacked air box.

I was saving this valve cover for the new engine rebuild, but the other 3 extra covers were cracked beyond JB Weld. So, I had to use it. Goes with car.

The problems: Paint on the hood and roof looked awful when I got it (Big white patches of faded paint). Rest of the car was fine. I sanded it down and painted it with Duplicolor. Looks much better than before but one can still tell it wasn't done by a pro. Since it is black and easy to match, I imagine a paint shop could spray it out for a few hundred (I'm not sure of paint prices these days).

The clutch is starting to slip under high boost (13 PSI and up). It is fine in normal driving but I would recommend changing it in the future. It seems to be at the begining stages of disk failure. Normal for this many miles.

Codes when car is hot after a while of driving point to the MAS. I would suggest changing that (30 to 40 bucks used on trader).

Front end may need work. I have not had it aligned so am uncertain of what it needs. It felt a little rough at higher speeds. Then again I compare it to my FWD with the 800+ dollar suspension and new components. All I can think of right now and do not have the time or space to check it out any more. I've already invested a lot of time and money into it for one month.:)
